This book basically consists of a series of scenes of everyday life throughout India: from the barbershop and marketplace to the bookstall and the crowded street.
These scenes do not depict the best or the worst that can be experienced, but something in between. Nor is it to be viewed as the chronicle of a journey or a personal odyssey. The book simply records hundreds of snapshots of ordinary life from all corners of India over a period of four years, starting in 1999.
