In this richly illustrated reference book, more than 20 international contributors explore the mythologies and rituals of ancient andean civilizations; their perpetuation, concealment, or hybridization with catholicism during the 18th and 19th centuries; and the rediscovery and valorisation of Peruvian popular traditions and faiths in the 20th century.
