Our goats now in Chicago, too

Thanks to Rick Kogan’s article, our book of portraits of sheep and goats by Kevin Horan (Goats and Sheep. A Portrrait Farm; French ed. Chèvres ou moutons; Italian ed. Capre o pecore) is now headed for Chicago. This conquest of America fills us with pride, and perhaps goat here really is the appropriate word.

A true designer bookshelf

A project conceived by Alessandro Andrei & Eric Ghysels The world of books and the world of design merge and interact within the premises of the publishing house. The bookshelf—a natural repository of books by definition—now becomes the symbol of concepts brought to fruition, as well as the place to house volumes and, with them,…

Our goats in New York

The Wall Street Journal has devoted column space to our photographic book Goats and Sheep. A Portrait Farm on the day of its American launch. We are naturally extremely proud of this visibility in the USA.

A bronze medal all for us

Our book Mythical Diary (Italian ed. Diario Mitico; French ed. Des jours et des mythes) has been awarded the bronze medal for “exemplary design and concept” in the photography book category at the International Creative Media Award for Books (ICMA). Special thanks to Luigi Spina, who took the wonderful photos that illustrate the book.

A unique and extremely precious object

The Farnese Cup truly is a hidden treasure, and for this reason has been chosen as the standard bearer of our series, as well as being the subject of an important article in the prominent arts magazine Connaissance des arts (February 2019). In it, Hervé Grandsart traces the artefact’s romantic history and examines its mysterious…

Seeds and eggs, looking at origins

The magazine I luoghi dell’infinito dedicates two articles in the December 2018 issue to our books featuring the stunning photography of Paul Starosta: Semi and Uova (Italian ed.), Œufs (French ed.). The first essay is by Leonardo Servadio, who discusses the potential for life contained in seeds, as well as their being the bearers of…

Uova/Œufs on France 2

This is just unmissable, to be watched again and again. Paul Starosta will be a guest on Dans quelle éta-gère, a programme hosted by Monique Atlan and broadcast by France 2. She will have two minutes—according to the programme’s rules—to describe and illustrate the creative beauty that led us to conceive our book Uova/Œufs (Italian/French edition).…

De l’aigle à la louve

Among the reviews published in the November 2018 issue of the magazine Archeo is an appraisal of our De l’aigle à la louve, edited by Stefano Mammini. Besides pointing out the importance of Carlo Maria Fallani’s patronage, the author highlights the extraordinary nature of this “pocket bestiary” admirably illustrated by Luigi Spina’s photographs. Not just plain…

Polka recommends Rejlander

One of the books the magazine Polka (2018–19 winter issue) suggests would make a good present is our Oscar G. Rejlander, artiste photographe. The magazine describes the book as enthralling, which obviously applies to the photographic pioneer’s The Two Ways of Life (1857), one of the first photomontages in history.

Make way for Eggs on Gambero Rosso

The over two hundred eggs photographed by Paul Starosta that find their way into his book Uova (Eggs) look like an array of imaginary planets. This is how this universe of multifarious eggs initially struck Federico Geremei, as well as being the metaphor the journalist uses to introduce this primordial object on the digital pages (sic)…

A “technically unrepeatable” visual dialogue

The online edition of the well-known magazine Vanity Fair offers an article by Federico Geremei on our book Capre o Pecore (English edition Goats and Sheep. A Portrait Farm; French edition Chèvres ou Moutons). Geremei is impressed by the book’s originality and its visual (and emotional) impact, as well as the skill displayed in managing not…
